Hair byRandy Knerr

Hair colorist for Hermosa Beach & Manhattan Beach

Salon Riviera is ten minutes south of Hermosa Beach and about fifteen minutes from Manhattan Beach — straight down the Strand or along Pacific Coast Highway. Randy serves clients from both beach towns for color, cuts and treatments.

From Hermosa Beach, take Pacific Coast Highway south or ride down the Strand to the Esplanade. Turn inland on Avenue I and the salon is one block east on Catalina Avenue. From Manhattan Beach, the fastest route is PCH south to Prospect or Torrance Boulevard, then Catalina south. The salon is at 1807 S Catalina Ave, in the heart of Riviera Village.

Beach-town clients tend to favor low-maintenance color — balayage, lived-in highlights and sun-kissed blondes that look natural against tanned skin and salty air. Randy's freehand balayage technique is designed to grow out softly, which means fewer trips to the salon and more time in the water without a hard line of regrowth showing.

The South Bay beach lifestyle is hard on hair. Salt water, chlorine, UV exposure and daily heat styling all take a toll. Randy pairs color services with Olaplex bond protection as standard, and many beach-town clients add a keratin or smoothing treatment to combat humidity and frizz, especially through summer.

Hermosa and Manhattan Beach clients who are used to the beach-city salon scene often appreciate Randy's approach: a one-on-one appointment with a single stylist who does the consultation, the color, the cut and the blow-dry. No assistants, no hand-offs, no production-line experience.
